We were always up at 4, prepping the plane. Load the clients, coffee, off the ground at 6:30 with any luck. Destination by 8 was usually the goal. Rent cars waiting on the tarmac… Day is done by 9:30. Not a bad life. Gave us all day to enjoy the surroundings.

Hi, Great video. What is that wheel next to your right leg? Also, you speak of the igniters….What are they. Have you ever experienced engine failure…..In the terrain you fly in is unforgiving. I am impressed with your skill…I’d fly with you anywhere. Regards Les

I'm waiting to get msfs installed with this beautiful Kodiak installed as standard, with X plane 12 I have to purchase this separately! I now have X plane 12, and I am not satisfied! If I want to fly an IFR landing in x plane which I see on youtube in msfs, everything goes perfectly the first time! But if I want to practice the same landing again with the C172 with G1000 nav and the same runway and the runway heading is set correctly; The IFR beacon sends me away from the runway every time, even though I can see the runway in the distance and I am at the right height! radios are correctly set, hold and approach are indicated in the g1000 but the arrows point away from the runway! Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

That's a lot of work with electronic instruments-trying to imagine what is was like in the 40's when all they had was anolog instruments. Could electronic pilots fly anolog today?

I imagine the stress when you don't have any information when you land the plane just your experience can make the difference

That was a text book IFR lesson Ryan. I'm still learning glass cockpit, but have come to really appreciate the G1000 visuals and information. Still...inside the ping pong ball till short final gets the pulse going. Super thankful for this instruction sir.

At 0:32, you needed 740 lbs.of fuel for this flight, had landed with 490 lbs. and called for an additional 146 lbs. (73 on each side). That's 636 lbs., not 740. Oops, or am I missing something?

What is that Red/Orange "thing" that was attached to the plane at 01:23, and removed at 07:28 ?

Someone asked about avionics. Yes, it is a G1000 (he said so), but it's a little different. A standard G1000 includes an internal autopilot, but this airplane does not. The controls for the G1000 AP are right below the heading knob, which is blank here. Instead, it has an external S-TEC 55X beneath the left and center displays (the long thin greenish line is its LCD display). It's integrated into the G1000 because it has a status display at the top of the PFD. No idea why. There is also an external HF radio which looks like a Bendix-King unit for ranges beyond VHF coverage. If you hear four numbers in a row on the radio, that's an HF frequency in kHz.

hey man, fantastic chanel. i have a question. I saw you use Windy in another vid, so you must really trust that, or is it just the best weather forecast you have there? It was also very off in that vid. I have had times, where it was so off compared to the official German aviation forecast, I came to not use it anymore as my primary source, just overall stuff. How is your experience with it?
